The Former District Chief executive of the Sissala West District, Mr. Robert  Wavei has become a card bearing member of the New Patriotic Party after he was suspended from the National Democratic Congress in April 2020 for Misconduct.

Mr. Robert Wavei was found criticizing the National Democratic Congress and referring to it as a failed party,  he said he lost interest in the NDC after they scrapped the Teachers and Nursing Training allowances. He also said he was neglected when he became parliamentary candidate in 2008. He added that his removal from office was Orchestrated despite his outstanding performance in the district.

The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was in the Sissala West District on a two days tour and as a result,  visited the constituency with the Upper West Regional Minister Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih and Regional Party Chairman,  S.B Kangberee.

The former District Chief Executive has become a Card bearing member of the New Patriotic Party(NPP).
