The Sissala East Municipal Assembly has refused to adopt the MCE Hon. Fuseini Batong Yakubu’s speech as an authentic document due to a missing item about a contract for supply of 600 dual desks for basic schools in Sissala East.
The contract awarded to NuruGan Enterprise in an amount of 371,250.00 cedis which was to be executed in 10 April 2020 has not been accounted for, therefore the assembly members have called for further information on the execution of the contract before adopting the MCE speech.
Sissala East Assembly holds third ordinary session, discusses 2022 budget and action plan
The Sissala East municipal assembly held it’s third ordinary meeting for 2021 on the 17 November 2021 to approve the 2022 composite budget, fee fixing resolution and the annual action plan that had been prepared and discussed in previous meetings. The municipal assembly is also in the process of preparing the 2022-2025 medium term development plan which the MCE charged assembly members to ensure their community’s development needs, aspirations and challenges are incorporated into the plan for implementation.
In a welcome address, the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Fuseini Batong Yakubu has indicated that the assembly members received 31 motorbikes to enhance the discourse of delivering their responsibilities. The assembly is also preparing for the celebration of 2021 farmers day and has therefore formed a community to oversee the planning of the event. Mr Fuseini Batong Yakubu further announced the the opening of the national identification authority’s office and has urged for awareness creation about the office and as well encourage constituents to get themselves registered for the Ghana Card to be able link it to other necessary documents as required. The MCE has further expressed happiness for his inheritance of an assembly that scored 99% in performance under the district performance assessment tool in 2021. Meanwhile, as crime rate has reduced in the Sissala east municipality, the MCE still entreat Chiefs, security agencies, NGOs and CSOs and the citizenry to be security conscious as he extends appreciation to the Pentecost church for supporting to put up a police post in Nahadakui. Notwithstanding, chieftaincy conflicts has become a threat to the peace enjoyed in Municipality with the recent issue which occurred in Wellembele. Mr Fuseini Batong Yakubu has therefore expressed that he is committed together with The municipal security council not to sit unconcern and allow any party to disturb the peace in Sissala East.
