Andre Ayew offered to play for free for
Liverpool before joining Premier League
rivals Swansea City, according to The
Sun. It has been reported by the British tabloid
that the 25-year-old forward contacted
Liverpool in the summer transfer window
in order to a secure a move to Anfield. The Ghana international’s agents
reportedly told the Reds’ chiefs that he
would play for free until January to prove
himself at the club. However, Liverpool’s transfer committee
did not accept the offer, according to The
Sun, and Ayew subsequently joined
Swansea on a free transfer, having left
French club Marseille at the end of the
2014-15 season. Bad decision from Liverpool?
