Construction Company on Lawra-Nandom-Hamile road has skipped in order to patch up worse portions of Nandom-Hamile stretch first so that traffic situation on that part of the international road, linking Ghana to Burkina Faso will be eased.

The District Chief Executive, (DCE) Mr. Iddrisu Braimah Wikana said: “I think they can use two days to finish with that portion,” he continued, “in fact, last Monday a vehicle fell there,” referring to accident which occurred on the road a month ago.

Also, a Chinese company has been made to go back to correct anomalies on Hamile-Happa-Banwon road after the companied claimed it had completed work on the road, and only for the it to succumb easily to floods with short rains causing flooding of nearby communities, and displacing many.

The DCE said: “it is not properly done, and so some Hamile youth ever hijacked some workers of the Chinese Company to correct the situation or else they were not allowing them to take away some of theirs machinery.”

Rehabilitation of the Nandom-Hamile, and correction-in-progress of anomalies on Hamile-Happa-Banwon roads; both, according to the DCE come as accident, and economic sigh of relieve to the Lambusie District of the Upper West Region.

But this achievement notwithstanding; the DCE through whose effort they works were ongoing; said more roads in the area were still in very deplorable state, especially, Brutu-Piina road and even there were some communities without roads.

He said he had made hard-pressed calls on regional authorities: the Regional Minister and the Regional Highways Director to both situations.

He said the two major roads had been nightmare, threatening lives, and properties due to their staggering deplorable levels, making it almost impossible for vehicles to ply them.
