The Daffiama Bussie Issa District Director (Mr. Abdul-Rahaman Osman) of National Commission for Civic Education organized a social auditing engagement at Wogu. The programme was part of activities under the Anti-corruption, Rule of Law and Accountability programme on the theme: “Citizens for transparency and Accountability”.

The social auditing is aimed at promoting among citizens and duty bearers on planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of developmental projects.

This is to ensure community ownership and sustainability of developmental projects in the community. The District Director entreated duty bearers to take governance to the door steps of the people by organizing such community fora for the Citizenry to increase awareness of their operations in the District.

The District Chief Executive Hon. Nadi Sanda Imoro who spoke on wide range of issues which including Education, Health, Agricultural development and roads infrastructure in the District, indicating government readiness to ensuring citizens participation at all level in socio-economic and political development discourse
The District Director of Social Welfare and Community Development also outlined their activities towards the development of the District. Mr. Caesar in his address told the people his outfit is mandated to identify the needy who qualify to benefit from the LEAP policy, disbursement of the LEAP funds to beneficiaries, child protection activities are among a wide range of activities the office is mandate to work on.

The District Coordinator of NADMO educated the people on their mandate and caution the people against cutting down of economic trees for charcoal. He bemoaned the alarming rate of deforestation and call for a collective responsibility to end the menace.

Speaker after speaker also include the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Coordinator citing youth entrepreneurship skills training and mentorship as government commitment to empower the Ghanaians youth. He therefore urged the youth of the District to embrace these opportunities.
The programme was attended by Chiefs, Youth groups, women groups, Queen mothers and Heads of local Government department.
