An Accra Fast Track Court Thursday
placed an interim injunction on the
Ghana Football Association’s
Presidential Election, which was slated
for the 18th of August in Tamale. Accra-based Citi FM reported that Justice
Mustapha Logo issued the injunction after
receiving an ex-parte motion filed by one
lawyer Bright to restrain the Ghana Football
Association from holding the Presidential
Elections. Lawyer Bright, the report noted, argued that
according to the GFA’s Statutes, the
Presidential Elections are supposed to be held
after the district and regional elections, but the
GFA’s calender for September showed that
the presidential elections were going to be held before the district and regional elections. Justice Logo is said to have granted the
injunction after he was presented with copies
of the GFA’s constitution which confirmed
Lawyer Bright’s case. The court asked the GFA to appear in 10 days
to respond to the motion filed Source:Graphic
