The District Chief Executive for the Daffiama Bussie Issa District of the Upper West Region, Hon. Naadi Imoro Sanda has fulfilled his promise of tarring the Wogu-Issa stretch of the Fian-Wahabu road which is about 10 killo meters.

In an interview with Radio Waa, on Wednesday March 6, 2019 at Issa, the DCE noted that, the President of the republic of Ghana H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo has made the Ghanaian public aware that, Ghana will see massive improvement in our roads stating that, the Daffiama Bussie Issa district has gotten its share of the president’s promise to build road infrastructure.

“Last year if you were listening to news you could hear the president saying that, this year is the year that he will tackle our roads seriously in the whole country, as I am talking to you now is not only the Wogu-Issa road, there is another road call Baayiri Jinpersi road that one too was awarded on contract last year from Guonuo to Baayiri to Jinpersi, the work over there too is casting of bridges and filling of gravel so that commuters can use it. So the Wogu-Issa road was also part of our activities and last year I said, tarring of the road will start by January and truth to my words January 16, 2019 we started tarring the road, so I want to say is that the president is not sleeping on his promise and he is taking steps to provide all the needed resources to all the contractors working on the roads to continue working. I will like to entreat that, H.E Kanyere Naa President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo is the one behind this work and the District Assembly is the one facilitating the work” Hon. Sanda stated.
Meanwhile, Road users who ply through the road expressed their excitement about the tarring of the road and thanked the President and the DCE for the good works they have been doing to the good people of the district.

Rehabilitation on Wogu-Issa Road

“I will like to thank the DCE and the President for the good works, we are happy that, this part of the road is been tarred especially we the people of Wogu, initially, whenever a vehicle passes here we those sitting just by the road side use to suffer the dust but now we are free from that and will want to say thank you to Hon. Imoro Sanda” Philip, a resident of Wogu noted.

However, the Residents after appreciating the work of the DCE and the President, appealed to the DCE to get some speed rumps built on the road especially the Wogu Township so that it will help reduce the speed of commuters.
