16 out of the 21 electoral area coordinators have contributed and picked nomination form for the Upper West Deputy regional minister Amidu Chinnia Issahaku to contest the Sissala East NPP parliamentary polls that is slated for 25th April 2020.
All sixteen coordinators in a press statement read by Mr Sumaila Wutirira of the Sakai area said “We are picking and handing over of the nomination forms for the Sissala east constituency NPP parliamentary primaries to honorable Amidu Chinnia Issahaku whom they indicated was out on official assignment.

It added that “we the 16 electoral area coordinators of the 21 electoral area represents 76.2% of the total electoral are openly declaring our support for Mr Amidu Chinnia Issahaku and indicated that “we believe we have the backing of the and blessings of our polling station executives in our various electoral areas” Mr Wutirira read.

Explaining their actions the statement said: “the aspirant we support and campaign for Mr Amidu Chinnia Issahaku is the only candidate among those that have declared interest to contest that can retain the Sissala East constituency seat for the NPP in 2020 and indicated that any other candidate will be a risk to gamble for the NPP.
As ‘the peoples man’ ,the group accused the other contenders as having lost touch and popularity within the NPP and this can be scientifically verified among the constituency executives, electoral cordinators, polling station executives, patrons, party leaders and the masses of the Sissala East constituency.
The management style of the current leadership has also been called to question with the coordinators quoted to have said “We the electoral area coordinators who are supposed to be lead campaigners do not see some of the contenders to be good leaders, we see them to be people with very poor and abysmal leadership and management skills which makes them a bad product to market in 2020elections”.and extolled Amidu Chinnia Issahaku for having kept touch with all segment of the constituency including traditional leaders.

“We these same electoral area coordinators campaigned and produced constituency executives in a block in February 2018 and that signaled that “we have no doubt our efforts will produce nothing but a landslide victory for Mr Amidu Chinnia Issahaku come 25th April 2020”.

For the sharpness of the opposition parties candidates in the Sissala East, the coordinators in their view sees the “2020 elections to be rigorous and therefore have appealed to look no further than Amidu Chinnia Issahaku is “readily available to demonstrate quality, commitment, confidence and above all competence”.

The statement finally cautioned what it described as “external forces to stay away from the Sissala East internal primaries, this is because we as a constituency have the competence, commitment and faith to govern and retain the seat, adding we know what is good for us and for that matter rural constituency needs to be boldly registered on the constituency map of Ghana, the statement concluded.

The area coordinators included Sakai, Bawiesebelle, Kpaviara Yalia, Kusinjang, kong and Nabulo. The rest are Gwosi, Nyaminjan, Zongo,Dolunbizon,Nabugubelle,Kassana with the rest being Kwapun,Banu,Challu and Nanyua electoral area.
The elections committee chairman for the Sissala East constituency Mr Salia Mwangu admonished them to see themselves as one party and cautioned against the use of foul language as they are a one house.

Mr Robert Asomani, the constituency secretary who handed over the nomination form to the coordinators urged them to be careful in filling out the form especially against fake cards which usage can render the form invalid. Mr Benin Sulemani the campaign manager of Amidu Chinnia then received the form on behalf of the deputy minister where he promised a sound campaign to get Mr Amidu Chinnia Issahaku elected towards the 2020 polls.
