
His excellency the vice president, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the company of the minister for Zongo and Inner city Development Hon. Dr. Mustapha Abdul Hamid, hon Boniface Abubakari Suadique, Minister of state in the office of the vice president and a host of others were in the Upper West Region to pray and interact with the people and chiefs of Tanina in the West constituency, Bulenga in the Wa East constituency and Tabiesi, in the Dafiama Busie Issa constituency.
He joined the people of Tanina to pray Zuhur after interacting with them.
From Tanina, the vice president and his entourage, in the company of the Upper West Regional Minister, Hon Dr. Bin Salih Hafiz, the deputy regional minister Hon Hamidu China, the Regional chairman, Mr. SB Kangbere and a host of other regional and constituency executives moved to Bulenga in the Wa East constituency where he prayed Asr and interacted with the chiefs and Imams. Also in the company of the Veep were some MDCEs across the region.
Tabiesi in the Dafiama Busie Issa constituency was the veep’s next point of call where he met with the Imams and chiefs. He observed the iftar there and prayed Maghrib with the people and proceeded to Wa.
In all the three communities, the Imams and chiefs expressed their happiness about the visit of the veep to their communities and thanked the president for implementation of some social intervention policies in the last two and half years that have ameliorated their plight.
Notable among them were the free senior high school policy, planting for food and jobs, the restoration of teacher and and nurses training allowances, the Nation Builders Corpse (NABCO ) among others.
The people, like Oliver Twist, asked for more support from government.

On his part, the veep thanked the people and used the opportunity to highlight some of the achievements of the government. He also assured them of government’s resolve to fulfill the promises that were made to people in the past.
He said Ramadan is a month of peace and urged the Imams to pray for peace and prosperity for the nation.
The Hon Boniface Abubakari Sadique presented some bags of rice and oil to the people for iftar.
