Information reaching Asempa Sports indicates
that power to the Accra Sports Stadium has
been disconnected. This has resulted in
darkness in the nation’s sports infrastructure.
The condition has worsened for the past days
with sources indicating that the National Sports Authority (NSA) is owing the Electricity
Company of Ghana (ECG) since January
2015. On Tuesday, workers at the facility
experienced their worst fears as the NSA
executives had to use a generator to power
lights during their board meeting. In 2013, the government gave a directive that all
government agencies should pay their own
utility bills but the NSA has since had
difficulties in settling their bills. The fixed price
for each month was stated to be GHc24,000
after negotiations. The NSA now owes the ECG GHC 463,000, Asempa Sports gathered. Source: adomonline.com
