
A man believed to be in his 40s has committed suicide, he was found hanging on a tree in between Hamile and Burkina, around the Hamile-Burkina cemetery, a community in the Lambussie Constituency.
The deceased whose name has not been identified left home in the early hours of Saturday and was later found hanging on a neem tree.
A police officer from the Hamile station who confirmed the incident said the police received the information at about 1600 hours and proceeded to the scene.
He said they found the lifeless body of the deceased dangling on a neem tree with a rope fastened around his neck and tied to one of the branches of the tree.
He said the body had since been hanging, waiting for the traditional leaders of “Hapaa” to come and perform the necessary rituals before the body will be moved, this is by their traditional beliefs if anything like this happens on their Land.
The family of the deceased indicated that he was mentally unstable.
