
District Adolescents Focal person
Physical disabilities is contributing to about 20 percent poverty in Ghana. A persons with a physical disability, particularly one who is unable to walk because of an injury or illness is been named as cripples in African. Most of the disabilities are considered to be vulnerable as many of them can not work.
The Disabilities group in Jirapa is calling for the assistance of the Kosmos Innovation Centre to help train some disabilities persons in St Joseph’s Disabilities center. They made this known to KIC when Pogenaa Rosemary Banzie, the Regional Adolescents Focal person and Florence Darimaani
Public Health Nurse Jirapa Municipal Adolescents Focal person to monitor the activities of these individuals (disabilities/cripples). They told the visitors of the recent hardship which made it difficult for them in null earns in their one – hand designs which does not favour market businesses in their sales.
Madam Tuffour Mercy a representative of KOSMOS innovation center acknowledged them that “they are committed to increasing awareness of agricultural opportunities and the associated entrepreneurial benefits for the youth. To achieve this, we have rolled out a series of programs and projects to reach and support them at each level of their growth.
The KIC projects are structured to provide support to youth ranging from high school students to Medium-scale business owners”. She assured them of reviewing their proposal which the feedback would be given to Madam Florence Darimaani when she gets back to Accra.
