Some Students of St. Joseph Nursing Training College in Jirapa have expressed worry with how appalling their feeding has become.

According to the students who spoke on request for anonymity, they used to pay Ghc1000 for feeding since the 2023 Academic Year begun but in April 2023 the cost of feeding was raised from 1,000 to Ghc1,100. It was later raised to Ghc1,500 with the reason that food items were expensive yet students kept complaining of food quality.

Concerns forwarded to Upper West Media Team.

“Okay We use to pay Ghs1000 for our feeding and they told us food stuffs are now expensive so will have to pay 1100 which they won’t be giving us breakfast well they weren’t giving us the breakfast which they decided on their own to increase the feeding to 1500 thus the breakfast will be included majority of the students wanted the feeding to be taking out but our decision was neglected we paid the 1500 and the feeding is even worse no sugar for the breakfast no fish no meat all the three square meals raw meanwhile we use to get fish egg and good meal when we use to pay the 1000, No Wi-Fi in the school, Our hostels are in bad conditions, The course registration we do them ourselves, The food is very poor so we beg you and it has shoot up the fees”.

Efforts to speak to Vincent Kojo Tanye , an administrative staff of the Nursing Training College in charge of public relations has not been successful.

Efforts are still in place to reach them.
