
The Jirapa Municipality is set to get it’s second radio Station after Gangaa FM was established in the Township.
The Second Radio Station with Frequency 96.1FM is likely to be live on air after some few months as mounting of a mast for clear and reliable frequency is being put in place by Ismail Benin, a Telecommunication Engineer working on the project.
The Radio which will be commercial Radio will serve the Jirapa Municipality and neighboring communities, Municipalities and districts within the area such as Lawra and Nadowli.
Jirapa FM is alleged to be owned by the Current MCE of Jirapa Municipality, Lawyer Nicholas Soyiri.
Gangaa FM which is the first Radio Station is owned by Former MP for The Area Mr. Paul Derigubaa.
Upper West Region has over 30 Radio Stations in various Municipalities and Districts with the Exception of Wa West District, Wa East District, Lambussie District and Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District.
