Steel Benders FC the newly formed football club in the Jirapa Municipality suffered it’s third consecutive defeat on Tuesday 27th December 2022 at the Jirapa Naayiri park.
The club logged horns with the Young Hippos FC from Wichaw. The game started with both teams in high spirit but the Young Hippos took the lead through an early free kick. They doubled thier lead some few minutes after the first goal.
The Steel Benders fought back fiercely but couldn’t get a goal before the end of the first half.
The hippos got another goal minutes into the second half bringing thier tally to three. The game ended three goals to zero in favour of the hippos from Wichaw.
Supporters of the Steel Benders were disappointed and the frustration could be seen on their faces. Some questioned the strength of the team and their game approach. Others could be heard saying “The steel Benders cannot even bend rubber”. Some die heart supporters however still believe it’s early days yet and that the club can turn things round.
