June 4th’s 38th Anniversary was witnessed in Wa this 2017 and Many dignified people attended the event The Wa Naa was Not an exception. Most N.D.C Gurus have been in attendance with the exception of Former President John Dramani Mahama who was expected by most party faithfuls.

Former Municipal chief Executive, Nuhu Putieha was the host speaker of the event.

Hon. Haruna Iddrisu who is the Member of Parliament for Tamale south and doubles as Minority Leader for N.D.C  was called upon to deliver a speech after several others have spoken including Ebi Bright who was a Parliamentary Candidate for Tema Central on the Ticket of N.D.C, Mr Iddrisu Mahama who was The Acting Regional Director of Education.

Mr Haruna Iddrisu Expressed his disappointment in so many issues happening within the country and said change of attitude is needed to develop Ghana, he cited an example stating that the University For Development Studies has Boosted the Economy of Upper West and that President Rawlings should be appreciated for the Great Achievemennt in bringing it to the North “ The University for Development Studies has improved the economic status of Wa and its surroundings, I was expecting the School to be named after The Former President, Rawlings. We Should Appreciate him when he is alive and not when he is Gone.” He said.

He also went Further to state that The June 4th Event has brought positive changes in Ghana and one of this includes the extension of electricity to areas deemed not fit to be electrified but fortunately on our part the Former President was Supportive enough to have extended electricity to so many parts of the country “ Apart from South Africa, Ghana is next when it comes to expansion of electricity, Ghana has been able to cover over 80% of its citizens and provided them with electricity and it was in the NDC era all these happened.” He again said.

He concluded with a proverb saying “e ba nma gyeli e kong ban ban o puo” meaning if you don’t break an egg you won’t know what is in it.
