Dr. Bright Baligi Donated to Holy Family SHS

The Member of parliament for the Lambussie Constituency in the Upper West Region, Hon. Bright Baligi has supported the Holy Family Senior High School with some teaching and learning materials.

According to the MP, the move has been taken to ameliorate the sufferings of teachers and students as a result of the acute shortage of teaching and learning materials in the second cycle institutions.

“As part of efforts towards the improvement of quality education within the Lambussie District/Constituency, and fully conscious of the acute shortage of teaching and learning materials in the second cycle institutions in the constituency,I donated some teaching and learning materials to Holy Family SHS-Hamile,in the Lambussie Constituency” he stated.

The items the MP donated include a
photocopier machine, printer, toners of various types, passive inbuilt speakers, and a wireless microphone.

Others included a refrigerator, television, decoder, filing cabinets, 2 desktop computers, marker boards and 20 realms of A4 paper.

Hon. Baligi during the presentation of items at the school’s campus, he charged the students to make good use of the itesm donated and ensure they are jealously guided and protected.

“I admonished the students to make good use of the items in a manner that will inure to their benefit and those that will come after them”.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school,the Headmaster expressed his gratitude for responding to their call for assistance and pledged to put the items into good use to benefit all the students.

He shared his schooling life with the students, narrates how he rose from nothing to become a University Lecturer and subsequently became the Member of Parliament for the Lambussie Constituency.

“Let me also use the opportunity and dispel the notion held by many people that, students from less endowed schools, especially in the Northern sector do not have the academic wherewithal to compete favorably with their colleagues in the Southern sector. This picture painted is an anomaly and totally unfortunate and in fact, the reverse is rather true, he therefore challenged the students to show to the world,their might and intellectual prowess in the ongoing WASSCE examinations”.
