The Paramount Chief of Lambussie Traditional Area Kuoro Issaka Kazie Tenjie II has indicated to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that the Lambussie District has not gotten a single kilometer of bitumen road despite their numerous pleas to successive government including the ruling NPP government.
Kuoro Issaka says the Lambussie district is the only district without an inch of tarred hence the need to remind the president yet again the cry of getting their roads especially their inner roads tarred. He also appealed to the President to tar the Nandom-Lambussie road.
“We wish to remind you that Lambussie is the only district without an inch of tarred road. We therefore once again solicit your kind help to tar the township of the district capital and its environs” he stated.
Kuoro Tenjie made this appeal when President Nana Akufo Addo paid a courtesy call on him as part of his 2-day official working visit to the Upper West region on August 22, 2022.
The Lambussie Kuoro further appealed to the president to get the district a tertiary institution to accommodate the increasing numbers of SHS graduates bred by the Free Senior High School programme implemented by the Akufo-Addo led NPP administration. He connoted that the establishment of a training college will inure to the benefit of the entire district and beyond.
“Lambussie is the only district without a tertiary educational institution. We wish that a training college be established to absorb graduates of the three SHSs in the district”.
Meanwhile, the Roads and Highways Minister Hon. Amoako-Atta responding to pleas to get the Nandom-Lambussie road fixed, he says plans are being advanced to work on the road stressing that, the road is estimated to cost about GHS30million. He however assured the Chiefs and people of Lambussie that a contractor will soon be assigned to the road.
