
A Youth Group of Lambussie Constituency have set up an agenda to establish a community Radio Station in the Area to spearhead development in the area.
Interacting with some of the individuals, they expressed optimism with the process with some indicating that the radio station will make some leaders accountable in the Constituency, they also added that the communication tool will enhance education, investigative communication and public relations in the Area.
There was a proposal to raise about Ghc30,000 via donations to begin process of acquiring some equipments.
A resident by name Paul Bemane Proposed to support with Ghc6,000 out of the total, Ghc30,000.
“The Lambussie politicians are moving from one media outlet to another, yet there is no community radio in the Lambussie constituency. By now, we should have contributed some money to start one, but Vena is quiet on that”
“The man who conceived the idea said we need only GHC 30,000. If everyone here contributes GHC 50, we will get GHC 24,000. I will pay the remaining GHC 6,000.”
Mr. Tibzie Endorsed the Idea of Paul Bemane with regards to establishing the Radio Station.
“Great idea. We can start this.”
So Far Wa Central has the most number of Radio Stations followed by Sissala East, Lawra, Jirapa, Nandom and Nadowli. Four Districts have no radio Stations and they are Wa West, Wa East, Dafiama-Bussie-Issa and Lambussie.
