Speaking on an Accra based radio
station, the lawyer whose client is one of the accused High Court judges said he is
considering suing Anas since his actions
could be interpreted as calculated to trap
his client, Justice Ayisi Addo.
Justice Ayisi Addo was suspended along
with six other judges implicated in the scandal on the orders of the Vice
President, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur,
acting as President in the absence of
John Dramani Mahama.
The affected judges are Justices Francis
K. Opoku, Kofi Essel Mensah, John Ajet Nasam, Ernest Obimpeh, Kwame Ohene
Essel and Ivy Heward-Mills. “Their suspension follows the
establishment of a prima facie case of
stated misbehavior against them by the
Hon. Lady Chief Justice pursuant to
Article 146(3) of the 1992 Constitution
and the setting up of a committee under Article 146(4) to investigate a petition,” a
statement from the Judicial Service
department said.
