The District Chief Executive of Nadowli/ Kaleo District Ms. Kathrine Lankono has been demonstrating strong commitment and passion to the GoG / Unicef Ghana WASH project in view of the Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) approach currently been implement in the District.

She has being actively supervising financial disbursement to ensuring that nothing will hinder Field facilitators from engaging in community level interventions.
Her strong desire to influence the behaviour change approach saw her engaged in community level sensitization, celebration of ODF communities and DICCS meetings and activities. By virtue of her hard work, the Upper West Regional coordinating Council in conjunction with Unicef- Ghana honoured her with a citation for selfless dedication, determination and example of good leadership.
Ms. Lankono has adequate time to peruse all activity, weekly and monthly reports and act accordingly. She has set a high standard for leadership and excellence in the Nadowli/ Kaleo District and has become so popular among her constituents and Field Facilitators of the District.
In her view; she believes that quality well being could only be guaranteed through good sanitation and hygiene practices as a pre- requisite for human and socio- economic development. She therefore strongly envisaged that; to propel the fundamentals of development sanitation needs to be one topmost priority under her tenure.
She has pledged to the WASH Team for her continues support and active involvement in WASH interventions and can wait the day the Nadowli/ Kaleo District will win the War against open defecation and insanitary practices.
