The Upper West Regional Coordinating Council has moved to Assess the level of Damage on Kaleo-Nadowli-Hamile Highway after it was partly washed away by overflow of Water from the Kaleo Dam.

The Incident occured on 3rd September 2023 after a heavy downpour accros the Upper West Region.

The Upper West Regional Minister Dr Hafiz Bin Salih has assured that the Road have been documented and efforts shall be put in place to get it fixed.

Following reports that we stand the risk of losing portions of the Kaleo to Nadowli road to heavy rainfall, I took a tour to see firsthand the situation on the ground.

I was accompanied by the Regional Director of Ghana Highways Authority, Engineer Ben Attah, the Regional Commander of Ghana Police Service, ACP Prince Gabriel Waabu, the Regional Director of NADMO, Mr. Mustapha Ahmed, and officials from the Nadowli/Kaleo District Assembly.

The necessary documents are being put together to enable us to get a contractor to fix the damaged sections of the road as soon as possible. However, the necessary precautionary measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of users of the road.
