Nadowli-Kaleo DCE, Miss. Katherine Lankono

Residents of Chari-Kuuri in the Kuuri Electoral Area of the Nadowli-Kaleo District are appealed to the government to provide the community with electricity.

Speaking to Info Radio News Team at the community, Madam Firigara Suzana bemoaned that the lack of electricity in their community is affecting their school children’s academic performance in the community.

She explained that the only time their school children learn is during the day as they cannot learn in the night due unavailability of lights.

Mr. Dakorah Amos, another resident of the community, further stated that the unavailability of the electricity in their community has affected their economic productivity as community members.

He said the availability of electricity could offer them opportunities for petty businesses like sales of refrigerated drinks.

He added that they also engage in industrial activities like welding and fabrication, milling and others.

The residents thus called on the government through the Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly to connect the community to the national grid.
