The Two identified as Mujaidu Mohammed, IT Coordinator and Mr. Julius Abesig, The Constituency Research Officer of the New Patriotic Party have expressed disappointed and disagreement with the Decision to Suspend them, they indicated that the reason for their suspension according to a letter issued to them was as a result of an undisclosed misdemeanor of theirs perpetuated in the year 2022.

In the Run up to the constituency elections last year, we were part of a team that expressed interest to contest for various positions within the party. We named our team, “Team Kograwai”.
The duo continued that the Interior Minister and MP for Nandom, Lawyer Ambrose Dery stepped inn to annul their intentions.
“Shortly after our declaration, the interior Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) prevailed on us to step down and promised to appoint some of our members to occupy positions. Two of us from team Kograwai were appointed as IT Coordinator and Research Officer Respectively.”

“..Also, few months after the constituency elections, the Constituency Chairman, Secretary, MCE launched an NPP youth group called “The Nandom Alpha Patriots”, The Constituency Youth Organizer was not notified of such youth group as youth groups should be under the youth Organizer. It is widely known in the Constituency that the MP has ‘replaced’ the youth Organizer with another person who will be loyal to him.”

“When some of Us Openly Declared our Support for Kennedy Agyapong other than the Preferred candidate of the MP, our woes in the Constituency deepened even further.”
Full Statement
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.
We the under-signed are Constituency Executive Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of Nandom who have been sacked as executives under very spurious allegations, without recourse to Article 4 of the Party’s internal disciplinary procedures and rules of natural justice under the 1992 Constitution of Ghana. The situation in Nandom NPP is such that grievance procedures have been thrown to the dogs and we therefore have no other approach other than this Press
Release to draw the attention of the Party at the highest level to the very undemocratic activities
of the MP.
We express disappointment and disagreement with the decision to suspend us. Mr. Mujaidu Mohammed and Mr. Julius Abesig as the Nandom Constituency New Patriotic Party (NPP) IT Coordinator and Rescarch Officer respectively. We are shocked by the allegations leveled against us in the letters addressed to us and we deny
the allegations.
According to the reasons behind the termination of our appointments, it was occasioned by certain incidences that allegedly happened in 2022. If indeed these were genuine reasons for
terminating our appointments, why did they have to wait for one whole year before taking this action against us shortly after the Presidential primaries? None of us have been invited to appear before any disciplinary committee to determine the veracity of what we are charged with.
In the run up to the constituency elections last year, we were part of a team that expressed our interest to contest for various positions within the party. We named our team, Team Kogr-
awai.
Shortly after that declaration, the Interior Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) prevailed on
us to step down and promised to appoint some of our members to occupy some positions. Two of us from Team Kogr-awai were appointed as IT Coordinator and Research Officer respectively.
Another group called Team Bekyieriya” had nearly all members of their team disqualified during vetting with very embarrassing allegations that best fit under disciplinary committee and
not a vetting committee. For example, one rcason why that team was disqualified was because members of that group did not attend end of year parties organized by the MP in his house, and did not visit the MP any timne he was in the constituency.
After the elections, Constituency Executive Meetings were held in the private residence of the MP instead of the Party office or at least a neutral ground acceptable to all executive members. In one of the meetings at his residence, he is alleged to have said, “I don’t trust those guys. Why will they conceive the idea to form a team to contest against people I have chosen as my executives.” How then can we attend Constituency Executive meetings in the private residence of the MP when it is clear we are his target for daring to think outside the box.
Also, few months after the constituency elections, the constituency chairman, secretary, MCE and other executives launched an NPP Youth Group called “The Nandom Alpha Patriots”. The Constituency Youth Organiser was not notified of such youth group as youth groups should be under the Youth Organiser.
It is widely known in the constituency that the MP has “replaced” the youth organiser with another person who will be loyal to him. When some of us openly declared our support for Honorable Kennedy Agyapong other than the preferred candidate of the MP, our woes in the constituency deepened even further.
It is evident that the Member of Parliament for our constituency Honorable Ambrose Dery is hell
bend on gagging decerning views and comments. His leadership style has become injurious to the growth of the party in our constituency and must be checked.
In the Nandom Constituency, any party member who does not sing the praises of the MP or has a contrary view to that of the MP, is deemed not NPP enough.
Another point worthy of note is that during the presidential primaries, we were unsuccessful in our attempt to prevent some Polling Station Executives who are now with security services from voting (there is pictorial evidence). They are Mr. Dery Gordon, Konyugagn Polling Station Chairman, Mr. Naabuo Francis, Yirpelle Primary School Polling Station Organiser and Mr. Belire Felix Tuopare Primary School Polling Station Executive Organiser.
We believe the above is what triggered the termination of our appointment.
Prior to the party’s presidential primaries, the MP and other members of the Constituency Executives told Polling Station Executives that our appointments as Constituency Executives will be terminated after the November 4 presidential primaries to prevent us from voting in next year’s parliamentary primaries.
The MP also mentioned that a former National Council Member of our great party, Mr. Alois Mohl will be next to be hacked from the party. Mr. Alois has recently declared his intention to
contest the upcoming NPP internal parliamentary primaries in the Nandom Constituency.
It is worthy to note that in August this year, the MP in a meeting with Constituents in Wa stated that the Constituency Youth Organiser, Mr. Patrick Nakpenaah was no longer his “son because he supports Honorable Kennedy Agyapong to be the party’s flag bearer. This singular conduct clearly breads disaffection and discord in the party contrary to Article 4 (7) of our Party’s constitution.
He said, “you all are aware of the misunderstanding between my son Patrick and I. I projected him above everyone else in the party but today, he has gone to support Ken instead of Bawumia.” Clearly, the MP is on a rampage to silence anyone who disagrees with him. It must be his way or no way. A clear case of dictatorship.
Currently, there are two separate court cases against some members of the party who associate
themselves with the party’s Youth Organiser. It is therefore not surprising that we have been
axed from our positions in the party.
The MP also caused the arrest of two members of our party; a Polling Station Executive and an
Electoral Area Coordinator.
Indeed, such recent ruthless conduct and tyranny by the MP, coming on the heels of worse anti-party conduct by him in recent years, has further divided the party to serious proportions.
We firmly believe that the suspension is unjust and unwarranted perpetrated to please the MP who is hell bent on gagging anyone who has a contrary view.
We are committed to cooperating fully with any investigations and are willing to provide information to address and resolve any concerns. We are confident that the facts will demonstrate our innocence and vindicate us. We express gratitude to all who have reached out to us through this trying times. We assure everyone that we will continue to fight the injustice and intimidation going on in the NPP in the Nandom Constituency.
Thank you.
