
Last week the Deputy Upper West Regional Minister Hon Amidu Chinnia Issahaku led the chiefs and elders of the Wa Municipal traditional council to meet the President and in the meeting, so many issues were raised.
One of the key issue that was raised at the meeting was the introduction of commercial flight at the Wa airport.
Within the same week, he again led the chiefs and elders of the upper west regional traditional council to meet the President and the same issue was raised, from the meeting, the president promised to look into it.
On the most progressive note this morning, management of an Airline Company namely (PASSION AIRLINE) which is currently operating at Accra and Tamale arrived at the Wa airport to inspect the facilities after which they will launch the flights.

Wa Airport to open soon
The Deputy Minister of Aviation, Yaw Afful, has said the Wa Airport will be opened for commercial flights after a month’s assessment and safety test.
“We can assure residents that the airport will be opened for commercial flights after a month, we have already spoken to some airline companies, African World Carrier and Home Base Carrier to assist in that direction,” Mr Afful stated and said the test was necessitated to ensure the safety of future clients and patrons of the facility.
Ghana has been ranked first in Africa in the aviation sector with a score of 89.9 per cent.”
