Eastern Region Sanitation
Turn out at today’s sanitation exercise at Jumapo in the New Juabeng Municipality of the Eastern Region was also very encouraging.
The three hour exercise which was led by the Deputy Regional Minister, Mavis Ama Frimpong and accompanied by the Chief of the town Nana Oppong Owusu as well as Zoomlion and Environmental Health Officers cleared the surroundings and desilted choked gutters.
While the women gathered at the market, the men also cleared garbage at the incinerator which is at the out skirts of the town.
Madam Frimpong commended them for their communal spirit and edged them to keep it up.
She advised them to take a cue from reports of cholera being received from Greater Accra and continue keeping their surroundings clean during this rainy season which is susceptible diseases like diarrhoea and cholera.
Madam Frimpong assured the market women that government will do as much as it can to rehabilitate the market which needs maintenance to enable them to have a permanent place of trading to enable them to earn their living.
