Midwife

A midwife with the Tumu Municipal Hospital, on Wednesday night, 2nd August 2023, saved the life of a pregnant woman at the Bolga roundabout in Tumu. A young midwife named Nawiadimah Samankina (SKIN) at the Tumu Municipal Hospital, did the delivery to save the lives of the mother and unborn baby using bare hands.

Narrating the incident to Sissala Radio News by an eyewitness, the woman who was been transported to the Tumu Municipal Hospital from Kowie about a 5kilometer distance from Tumu on a motorbike, getting to the Bolga junction, the woman was in pain and was in labor to deliver the baby. Fortunately, Skin who was also en route to town, met the situation. As a result of the nurse’s help, the mother gave birth to a bouncing baby boy, and both mother and baby were eventually sent to the Tumu Hospital for proper care.

Explaining how she did it, Sakina said ” I was supported by some other nurses, and we were able to perform safe delivery”. Whiles trying to bring forth another life,  Samankina’s baby was on her back. Lookers at the spectacular scene amaze by the bravery and passion exhibited by the young nurse and praise her for her outstanding show of compassion. Others had also taken to social media to offer their congratulatory messages and praise to her.
