The Minister for Environment, Science and Technology Prof. Frimpong Boateng on 5th March 2019 visited Sissala East in the Upper West Region to facilitate the commencement of The One Village One Dam Project in the Municipality.
He handed over the site to a contractor to rehabilitate the Bugubelle dam at a cost of $147,000.00. The project is expected to be completed in six calendar months.
According to the Deputy Regional Minister, Amidu Chinnia, Funds were secured from UNDP for the commencement of the project.
The Dam is expected to serve over 8 communities within the Municipality.
