The Duwie Old Students Union in the Sissala West District have called on all stakeholders to as a matter of urgency come to the aid of the Duwie Basic School as almost all students in the primary level learn and write while lying on the floor.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Radford News Desk on Thursday 18th January at Duwie, the Unions Welfare Chairman, Mr Dorwi Chonpulun Basinyiku lamented the poor state of furniture in the school.
He narrated that the furniture in the school’s primary one to six are woefully inadequate resulting in lots of students having no option than to sit and learn on bricks or on the bare floor. The situation he says has become worrying since some students as a result do not go to school because they know there exist no furniture for them to sit on.
He also revealed that the union has taken the initiative to build a two room bungalow for their teachers.
He however appealed to stakeholders to come to their aid to enable them complete the buildings since funding has been a major challenge.
