There’s urgent need to protect our Ghanaian boarders against possible jahadist attacks as our neighboring Burkina Faso are fleeing their communities to seek refuge in the Sissala West District of the Upper West per reports gathered from Gwollu FM.
Over 796 migrants fled Burkina Faso over the weekend Sunday and are in communities of the Sissala West District according to NADMO. Some of the affected communities include Fielmuo, Nemoro, Tiwii, Fatchu, Puzene, Buo and Chetu.
This is as a result of Suspected Jahadist who invaded a suburb Burkina community of Buro called Jafenli on Sunday 4th December, 2022 and allegedly subjected church worships to torture, they also sacked teachers out of school campus and proceeded to the market square.
They introduced the residents to a particular style of Islamic Worship and promised to be back if they fail to adhere.
The next day, the Suspected Jahadist went to another community called Nyaburo also in Burkina Faso and damage network service providers towers.
The Sissala West District Assembly led by the Chairperson of the District Security Council (DISEC) madam Batong-Hor Aisha visited the communities on the 7th December, 2022, Wednesday and alluded majority of the migrants are women and children.
The assembly pledged to provide them with some food stuff and mats on humanitarian grounds said DCE.
