The District Chief Executive for Wa West in the Upper West Region, Edward Sabo Laabiir has hinted that government will soon award a contract for the construction of an estimated 12 kilometer road from Buli a small farming community to Ponyentanga.

The road project when successfully executed will boost economic activities in beneficiary communities along that stretch of the road.

Speaking to Radio Progress News in an exclusive interview on Tuesday April 23, 2019 in Wechiua, the DCE who failed to give details of the project however appealed to residents in the beneficiary communities to cooperate with the contractors when the project begins.
The DCE also pledged his support for the Wa West District Brifor Dance Troupe who paid a courtesy call on him at his Wechiua residence.

The chairman of the Brifor Dance troupe, Michael Dongoro mentioned that the purpose of the group is to seek for collaborative ways of sustaining the disappearing Brifor custom and tradition for the unborn generation.

He used the occasion to also outline some challenges the group is faced with and called on the district chief executive to extend a helping hand to the group.
