Tumu Road Blocked

The Upper West Regional Minister Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih has failed to cut sod for the commencement of Road Project for Tumu-Han-Lawra Road.

There has been demands for the Tumu-Han-Lawra Road to be fixed due to the economic returns it generates for the Region and country at large.

On the 14th of May 2022, the Upper West Regional Minister via his social media handle assured that on the 25th of May, the Vice President, Dr. Mohammudu Bawumia together with himself and other dignitaries such as the Roads Minister, Mr. Amoako Atta will be at the site to cut sod for the road project to begin, the Minister in an Interview with Joy News added that, the Road project will officially begin on the 8th of June 2022 and End on the 7th of June 2024, i.e 24 months.

Today being 25th of May 2022, checks were carried out at the RCC and information gathered proves the Sod Cutting was suspended due to the inability of the Vice President to attend the ceremony.

According to the Regional Minister who spoke to Home Radio, interviewed By Kunbiezung Kunateh, popularly Called Asprilla, he explained that despite the Vice president not being able to cut sod for the commencement of the project, the project will still take place on the 8th of June 2022 and end on the 7th of June 2024. He added that the absence of the ceremony doesn’t prevent them from executing the project.

Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih Added that He has Informed the Member to Parliament for Sissala East and Other stakeholders of the development they faced today.
