The Spokesperson to Chief Imam, Sheikh Arimiyaw Shaibu has on behalf of the National Chief Imam, Alhaji Sharabutu declared tomorrow 2nd May as Eid-Fitr Day after the Moon was sighted in Dorimon, a Community in the Upper West Region.

Fasting Begun on the 2nd of April 2022 by some Muslims whilst others started on the 3rd.

Today Marks 30 days of fasting for those who started on the 2nd.

The Spokesperson mention names of some islamic scholars who went to Dorimon to confirm the development.

“Having combed around the 16 Regions of the country, we have been able to receive Information from one of the regions, specifically I’m mentioning Upper West in a town called Dorimon in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region and this information has so well been authenticated by two very important representatives of the Upper West Region on the Halal Committee and by names Imam Zakaria and Alhaji Baba Dawud, these are reliable members of the Halal Committee in the Upper West Region and they can be identified and they can verify, this information has so well been verified and we have authenticated it as we speak to you now on the authority of the chief Imam, once the moon has been sighted, it is a violation of islamic rule regarding on Eid-Fitr that we fast on Eid-Fitr Day, so tomorrow is Eid Day for us”.
