The Public Utility Regulatory Commission has  issued a Statement an hour after lights were taken out in most parts of the country including Upper West Region.

Power was taken away at 7pm on the 7th of May 2022.

Several people have expressed displeasure with the unannounced approach.

Statement

“URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT

Power supply from GRIDCo to NEDCo is currently down thereby affecting distribution of electricity in the entire Upper West region.

Efforts are underway to identify and fix the problem and resume supply.

While asking for your understanding on this, PURC is assuring the general public of its close monitoring of the situation.
