The Upper West Regional Chief Imam’s Educational Endowment Fund established on 13th of October 2022 has assisted 16 Brilliant but needy Students to further their Education in several Universities and Colleges within the Country.

Cheques were issued to the Students at the Office of the Chief Imam on Wednesday 4th January 2023 in the Presence of Several Stakeholders Including Limans, Imams and the Wa Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Isaahaku Tahiru Moomin.

Secretary to the Fund, Mr. Razak Abdul Rahman in a press statement to the Media indicated the Support was part of the Chief Imam’s efforts to ensure no needy Student is left behind when it comes to pursuing formal education.

Some Beneficiaries

He added that the fund is open to all Needy people within the Region siting a Student from a Different Denomination being considered for the Scholarship. A Student by name Danyuo Vincent from a different faith was part of the Beneficiaries of the scholarship, he was assisted with a Sum of Ghc3,688.04 to pursue Civil Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), he was the only Christian Student to apply for the Scholarship according to the Secretary.

The Secretary called for more Support from stakeholders for the fund to be able to support more brilliant but needy Students.

A Total of Ghc33,003.48 was disbursed to 16 Students, 12 boys, 4 Girls to pursue various courses in different Universities and Colleges.

A Mobile Money Number was given for donations to the Chief Imam’s Endowment Fund 0597410247 with name ‘Chief Imam Endowment Fund’.

A Donor by name Hudu Moqtar gave out Ghc2,000 at the Occasion.
