Funeral Rite of late Former Bishop of Wa, His Eminence Richard Cardinal Kuuia Baawobr M.AFR is currently ongoing at the Wa sports stadium and several dignitaries have begun arriving to witness the Sad Occasion.
His funeral Ceremony will be from 11th January to 12th January 2023 and Special Guess of Honor will be President Nana Akufo-Addo.
A communique issued by the Secretary-General Missionary Of Africa, Father André-Léon Simonart, said the 63-year-old Cardinal died on Sunday, November 27, after he was rushed to the Hospital. Ghana’s Cardinal Richard Kuuia Baawobr died in Rome, Italy.
Rev. Baawobr was appointed alongside 21 other cardinals who will assume their roles at the Vatican in August 2022.
The list was announced by Pope Francis.
Bishop Baawobr currently serves as the Chief Shepherd of Ghana’s Catholic Diocese of Wa.
He was born on June 21, 1959, and ordained as a priest on July 18, 1987.
On May 7, 2016, he was ordained as a Bishop.
He was widely known for his acts of charity and love for mentally challenged persons.
