Several Public Figures form Upper West Region are currently doing their best by projecting the Region to the Country.
Most of the Public figures either acquired their formal education in the Southern parts of Ghana, were into business, employed in private Companies or Public Institutions down South.
1. Salma Moomin: Salma Moomin is From Dondoli in the Wa Municipality but based in Accra. She visited Wa in December 2021 to celebrate her birthday, as part of her visit she payed Hospital bills for 10 people in the Upper West Region Hospital.
2. Femtuo Tahiru Fentuo: A Sports Journalist with Multimedia’s Joy Prime is from the Sissala East Municipality.
He is a professional journalist and is based in Accra, though he hardly visits home due to some schedules, Fentuo is from the Upper West Region.
3. Abdul Hayi Moomin: A Former Broadcast Journalist of GBC’s GTV was one of outspoken Journalists in Ghana, he currently works with University for Development Studies (Tamale) in the Nothern Region. He is a Native of Wa Limanyiri.
4. Moesha Baduong: a Product of University of Ghana who pursued Theatre arts is currently in the Greater Accra Region working as an Actress, she is Outspoken and recognized as one of the celebrities in Ghana.
5. Blackk Rasta: Black Rasta Hardly Comes Home, he was with Zylophone FM in Accra, as an Outspoken Journalist, Black Rasta has always been in the airwaves for criticizing the Incumbent NPP Government, he was ever summoned in Parliament over claims that Some Parliamentarians smock weed. He is from the Upper West Region.
6. Samini: Pibilinaa of Wa Municipality is currently the SRC President of GIMPA, he is based in Accra but comes home Frequently to check on the Youth. He is from Aahiyao in the Wa Municipality.
7. Wiyaala: Wiyaala the Lioness is from Funsi in the Wa East District, she has begun construction of a Community Center in the District Capital of Wa East to boost Entertainment in the Town. Wiyaala has been in the Industry for Over a decade and has won several awards at VGMA and AFRIMA.
