The Deputy Director General of Ghana Education Service(GES), Mr. Anthony Boateng has indicated in a Letter that All Junior High School Teachers in the Upper West Region have received their Laptop. He added that the Ashanti Region Alone is the Region that has someone of it’s staff being owed laptops.

He made that statements in a letter dated April 2022. He added that Primary School Teachers will all receive those laptops before the end of July.

Statement

“DISTRIBUTION OF LAPTOPS UNDER THE ONE -TEACHER, ONE LAPTOP PROGRAMME

To date, distribution of the TM 1 Laptop to all teachers in the Senior High Schools throughout the country has in principle, been completed. It is however, noted that there are isolated mop ups, that ought to be carried out.

Distribution of the laptops to teachers in the Junior High School level, have been completed in 15 Regions with the exception of Ashanti Region. It is expected that by the third week of June, the distribution for teachers in the Ashanti Region would have been completed.

It is programmed that distribution for the primary schools will start immediately after the Easter holidays and expected to be completed by the end of July, 2022.

Teaching staff in the offices will receive their laptops immediately, distribution to the primary school teachers are completed.

Management is working closely with the supplier to ensure that these timelines are strictly adhered to in order for all eligible teachers to Receive their faptops by the end of August, 2022.

Management therefore appeals to all teaching staff to be patient as the schedule unfolds to its logical conclusion.”
