‘Women in Sustainable Development (WoSuD)’ has been launched in Jirapa Municipality. It was launched with an objective of supporting women empowerment and community development.

It is a new Non – Governmental Organization(NGO) which would provide morale boosters mechanism to women to advance financial independence to support their community members and families.

Speaking at Launching premises at Jirapa Royal Cosy Hills popular knon as Jirapa Dubai, the founder of the NGO Madam Hajjia Aisha Salifu enlightened the public that the establishment is WoSuD come from her side of philanthropic work and also and also she is anxious to support the vulnerable to grow out of puberty.

The NGO would serve as a grand mother unbralla under whose shade the various groups of the women which would be supported to bolster the activities on their guidance on training and business development .

The women groups would be trained on Agro – processing, Weaving, Beading Weaving and many more.

Speaking at the Launching Sheikh Abdul Mumin Dalhu the Chief of Zongo at Tamale commended the founder of NGO and said every woman to keep striving hard to improve better lives of their people. He added that the life of human being is compatible with plants , so the women groups should be ready to plant trees at each occasion in their lives.

Other dignitaries at the Launching was Dr. Jane Lobnibe, a Departmental Head at SDD – UBIDS, Madam Maria Johana Yuorpor, an entrepreneur and Women enterprise consultant, Mr. Justice Donglabong Dinaa, the Paramount Chief (Regent) of Jirapa and other Chiefs, Madam Hadijah Ahmed Erasung, an entrepreneur and Author and among so many personalities.
