Former Wa West DCE, Late Edward Sabo Labiir has been laid to rest after he was reported dead on the 9th September in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Capital, the Incident surprised many within the Upper West Region.
He was buried on the 8th of October 2022 at Maaduteng in the Wa West District of Upper West Region.
He served as a District Chief Executive for Wa West District from 2017 to 2021, he was succeeded by Madam Vida Diorotey, the first female District Chief Executive of the the District.
Several sympathizers including Staff of the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council were present including the Birifor Youth Association.
Some Assembly Members of the Wa West District, Party Members of the New Patriotic Party, MMDCEs from the Region were also Present at the Funeral Ground.
Statement of the Family Before his Burial
The Head of the Laabiir family, Mr Momaa Dari and the entire Maaduteng community regret to announce the sudden death of their beloved son and brother, Hon. Edward Sabo Laabiir, immediate past DCE for Wa West in the Upper West Region.
He died on Friday, 9th September 2022 after a short illness at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

This morning, we joined many others in Maaduteng in Wa West District to bid farewell to the late Hon. Edward Sabo Laabiir, former DCE for Wa West District. The late Hon. Laabiir served as DCE for Wa West District in the first term of President Nana Akufo-Addo. May his soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.
