The Government Fertilizer according to Upper West Regional Minister is Ghc160 but not in hugs supply, he made these Revelations with Seyidou Bhomanjo at Radio Upper West in an Interview session on the 18th of July 2022.

According to Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, Government’s Subsidized fertilizer is Ghc160 compared to last year when it was Ghc70.

“The government fertilizer is Ghc160, last year it was Ghc70, farmers bought them at Ghc40 whilst government absorbed Ghc30, that is the only difference, this time in the open market farmers are buying it at Ghc400, this should tell us that in the previous years, planting for food and jobs program was beneficial to the people of Upper West Region, that is why there is a huge cry this year as a result of our inability to provide the needs of our people but this is only a temporal situation, once things become normal, we’re going to revive the program, the plan is to make Fertilizer available through the open market, it could have been worse if the Fertilizer were not in the market, but now they are in the market just that the prices are too high, those are some of the challenges that come with turbulence, we are not in Normal times, so people will have to go through this but believe me, sooner or later, things will normalize and we will go back to our old ways”.
