Harmattan

Several people in Lawra, Nadowli, Jirapa and some surrounding Towns have resorted to Nose Masks after years of doing away with them.

This Development was triggered by state of the weather in Upper West Region.

Harmattan Dust within have become more severe making vision blur, some riders had to put on lights of their bikes to be able to travel safely.

The dust is Projected to be in place for over a week as a result several people are playing safe in order not to contract Infections and other health complications such as Cough, influenza, Headaches etc.

Asthmatic Patients aren’t left out this season.

The Harmattan is a season in West Africa that occurs between the end of November and the middle of March. It is characterized by the dry and dusty northeasterly trade wind, of the same name, which blows from the Sahara over West Africa into the Gulf of Guinea.
