Kanton Senior High School Participated in the 3rd Edition of Energy Commission’s Senior High School’s Renewable Energy Challenge.

The Program was held in partnership with the Ghana Education Service.

Information from the Facebook page of the Kanton Senior high says the school placed second out of eight schools in an energy commission contest.

“Kanton SHS participated in the third edition of the energy commission SHS renewable energy challenge.
The school after presenting a BIOSOLAR ROASTER project, came second out of eight schools”.

The 3rd Edition of the Energy Commission’s Senior High Schools’ (SHSs) Renewable Energy Challenge for public second-cycle institutions, has been launched at Accra In May 2022.

The challenge seeks to promote creative thinking and provide mentorship to students in the second-cycle institutions, and also extend to them the platform to exhibit their innovative projects.

The competition, which is open to all senior high schools, expects participating students to develop projects in the area of either clean cooking or food processing, and these should be related to the use of renewable energy technologies.

In the area of clean cooking, the focus is to be on either improved stoves or fuels, while for food processing, schools should focus on how renewable energy could be utilised in food processing and preservation.

Business Senior High School (Bisco) was declared the Winner.
