A Young girl by name Ophelia was involved in An Accident at Ponyentanga and as a result two of he legs were amputated at the Upper West Regional Hospital. She was Hit by a Metro Mass Transit LTD Branded Bus heading from Tamale to Wa.

Well, on 15th April,2023, I was onboard of the Wa-Tamale bound ill-fated Matro Mass Transit bus which ran into the 4yr old innocent school girl who was  happily running across the road at Poyentanga.

It was indeed an eyesore but it was miracle that the driver didn’t run over her. All those onboard were surprised the girl wasn’t ranned over. God must be praised at all times and the driver as well deserves an award.

It was unfortunate the town folks ransacked the car and started beating everyone onboard. My tablet broke beyond repairs because a broken cement block aimed at my face was blocked with my hand holding the tablet. It was terrible moment since I started travelling in the early 90s. Luckily, althose passengers who suffered injuries in the hands of the people got better the following day.

Ghana Police Service, those traveling on the Wa-Tamale bound Matro Mass Transit on the 15th April, 2023 say Ayekoooo! Adama Waahu Issah we are eternal grateful, Hon Toobu Peter native of the town and mp for Wa-West, thank you for the timely intervention. Kongbolmo and Ga teachers and all other travellers who contributed in evacuating the Matro Mass Transit passengers that fateful day from Ponyentanga, God bless you all.

I call on Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Child Rights International, UNICEF, the media, NGOs and all well meaning Ghanaians to help this innocent school girl.
