
The Upper West Regional branch of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on October 29, 2022 embarked on Unity Walk to keep members of the party active ahead of the party’s regional elections and towards its victory 2024 agenda.
The Wa Central Constituency Chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Issahaku Sidik Famina during the walk told Radio Waa that the exercise is aimed at creating awareness of the Party’s readiness to capture power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) come 2024 general elections.
He said the party still has series of activities to carry out before 2024, which included its internal elections, clean up exercises, manifesto launch, health, and educational programmes, all aimed at canvassing for votes from Ghanaians to secure victory come 2024 electoral race.
The Chairman urged electorates to vote for the NDC to come back to power to continue with its good policies and programmes, which are tailored at enhancing the socio-economic development of the country and improving the standard of living of the populace.
The walk christened, “4 Unity Ahead of internal Elections” saw thousands of NDC loyalists and sympathizers of the umbrella family participating in the walk led by the Party’s Regional Secretary, Lawyer Charles Puozuing.
The walk which started from the forecourt of the Ministries blocks in Wa, saw functionaries of the NDC clad in party paraphernalia and went through some principal streets in Wa amidst singing and dancing. The party faithfuls got charged up with the beautiful rhyme of the carefully selected party songs.
Some of the participants who spoke to Radio Waa called for more of such events to unite the party for victory come December 2024 general elections.
