The Leader of The Upper West Regional Coordinating Council, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih has provided information as to Stores being taken to empower, strengthen the Military Bases and forces in the Upper West Region.

He disclosed the development at Radio Upper West in an Interview on the 18th of July 2022.

“as of now we have over 600 military personnel in the Region, some are stationed along our frontiers so as to be able to detair the people who have negative mentality from coming into the Region, the government is also constructing 3 Forward Operating Bases(FOBs) in the Region, one is located in Tumu, there is one in Hamile and another in Jirapa, I have also made a case for one to be constructed in Gwollu and another in Wa West, I have written to the Minister for defence and he has acknowledged receipt of my data of appeal.”
