A big cultural and Costume festival set to keep Upper West Region standing still in November 2022, a big program dubbed Smock Festival expected to bring together Weavers and some traders of smock fabrics in the Upper West Region.

The festival will take over the Sena Waala Street from the 24th to 26th of November 2022.

Several Stakeholders have declared interest in the Festival including CEO of Smock City, Madam Josephine Seukuu who urged private school owners to use Smocks as Friday wear in order to market it.

The Program was premeditated by Napoleon Derry and other friends of culture.

On the 30th of September, representatives of the VIP committee of the #SmockFestivalTeam on behalf of the Board of Directors presented a beautiful Smock to our father and figure of African Culture & Tradition and for that matter Ghana and the Upper West Region, no other person than the no.3 gentleman of our land Hon Alban S.K. Bagbin, speaker of Parliament of Ghana who has been a figure and promoter of our culture and traditions as a people at his residence in Wa.

The Smock Festival Team 2022, wish to have him as our special guest of honour come this November, the activity month. Our culture is our identity and is beautiful and must be celebrated and promoted to the world.

The donation was received by the Chief of staff of the Speaker’s Office, Dada Kofi Atoh. A very welcoming and proactive Chief of Staff!
