
All Teachers in Upper West Region have Embarked on an Indefinite Strike Action Like their Colleagues in Other Regions Across the Country to Express their displeasure about the Appointment of Dr. Eric Nkansah as Acting Director General of Ghana Education Service.
The Former Director General, Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amanakwah was reassigned by the President in October and Later Appointed Dr. Nkansah of Kumasi Technical University to Oversee the Ghana Education Service.
Teachers Went on Strike as a Result of Dr Eric Nkansah’s Appointment and have also included other Reasons why they are going on Strike in a Statement Issued to Teachers.
Some Students of Tendamba JHS, Falahia, Wa Model School were seen Returning Home As a Result of the Strike.
We wish to inform all our members that effective Friday, 4th November, 2022, CCT-GH and the other Teacher Unions declared an indefinite Strike over the appointment of a Banker as DG of GES, non payment of Deprived School Allowance, Issues on Distribution of Teacher Laptops, issues on Promotion, and other issues related to our conditions of service. You are therefore advised to stay away from work indefinitely until you hear from leadership.
