Residents of Kpongu in the Wa Municipality have appealed to the Upper West Regional Commender of Police, DCOP Peter Ndekugri to Transfer Police officers who have exceeded ten years in the Upper West Region.
According to the residents, such officers have indirectly become natives, establishing close relationship with people within the town, they added that officers Within this category are influenced by friends and as a result are unable to execute their duties effectively.
Meanwhile the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council on 7th September 2022, had Organized a program at Blue Hills hotel to celebrate police officers who have stayed in the Region for 14 years, the occasion as graced by the Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, Some MMDCEs, the Regional Police Commander DCOP Peter Ndekugri and other Stakeholders, the female officers numbering 7 were given certificates.

The Office of the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council organized a ceremony in honour of 7 female police officers who have served in the region for over 14 years each. Their long period of service in the region came to light at the climax of the 70th-anniversary celebration of women policing in Ghana. Women were first enlisted in the Gold Coast Police Force in 1952. Together with members of the Regional Security Council and some distinguished personalities in the region, we graced the ceremony in honour of these police ladies who have served in the region for many years. The event took place at Blue Hill Hotel, Wa.
