Nursing Trainees

The Upper West Region has several nursing colleges approved by the Ministry of health to Operate.

The the oldest Nursing Training College in Upper West is the St. Joseph Nursing Training College in Jirapa established in 1952 according to the Principle Mr. Vincent Kojo Tanye.

Some other Nursing Training Colleges Established later after St. Joseph NTC include the Wa Nursing Training College, the Lawra Nursing Training College, Tumu Nursing Training College, Nandom Midwifery Training College.

All The outlined schools are boarding schools and have feeding attached to their fees per semester, this means a student with pay Ghc2,967 per semester as fees approved in April by the Ministry of Health.

This includes feeding but students of the Wa Nursing Training College will be paying less because feeding won’t be attached to their fees. Feeding goes for Ghc1,500 per semester meaning per year, a Trainee should pay Ghc3,000 for feeding.

of Wa Nursing Training College will be paying with the exception of feeding dropping their fees down to Ghc1, 467 per semester.
